HOUSTON – How would you like a free day at the spa? In this economy, that sounds like a dream come true.

The owners of The Conservatory Spa and Salon in Kingwood are giving away $225,000 in free services. Earl and Karen Garrison say they are giving complimentary gift cards to area teachers as a way to say ‘thank you’.

The Garrison’s gave all 4,500 teachers and administrators in Humble and New Caney ISD’s a $50 gift card. The teachers can use the $50 for a haircut or any spa service.

The couple calls the free services a small gesture. They say what’s really valuable is letting teachers know they are very much appreciated.

The Garrisons have always been great supporters of the area schools and teachers.  Just a few months ago, they gave over 4500 teachers and administrators in the Humble & New Caney ISD $50 gift certificates as a gesture of appreciation.  Now, they have come forward again to help raise money to replace the burned playground at Foster Elementary.

“It is always saddening when you hear of vandalism that affects the children of our community.  We don’t have an answer to why someone would destroy playground equipment or any other school property.  We would like to participate in the restoration of the playground and hope that other businesses will also step forth and do what they can to help,” said Earl and Karen Garrison.

The Conservatory has provided 600 Gift Certificates for services to the Foster Elementary School at no cost to the school to help raise the needed funds.  The school will use 3 different denominations of $25, $50 and $100 “Conservatory Gift Certificates” to award donors who give $50, $100, or $200 of donations respectively as a way of thanking donors for their contributions.  Donors will be able to use the certificates toward any services at the Conservatory until Nov. 30, 2009.   If all 600 Gift Certificates are awarded to donors, it will result in $70,000 in donations for new equipment.
